Question:
If husband and wife have enough gold, that if they sold it, they would have sufficient amount of funds to go for Hajj. Would Hajj be farz on them
Answer:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
In principle, if a person has enough wealth to provide for his family in his absence and sufficient funds to complete Hajj, it will be compulsory for him to perform Hajj. Based on this principle, if you have sufficient funds to cover the abovementioned expenses after selling your gold, Hajj will be compulsory on you.
And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
