Anas bin Malik may Allah be pleased with him narrates that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah send peace and blessings upon him said to Abu Talha, ”Choose one of your boys to serve me”, so Abu Talha took me placing me behind him (on the means of transport). I would attend to the Messenger of Allah’s needs whenever he would stop to rest. I would hear him recite the following a lot:

Oh Allah, I seek refuge in you from anxiety, grief, weakness, laziness, miserliness, cowardice, extreme debt and being overpowered by other men.

I continued serving him until we returned from (a place called) Khaybar, and he returned with Safiyah bint Huyay who had received (in booty). I would see him making a cushion for her with a cloak or garment and seat her behind him until we reached (a place called) Al Sahba, where he made some Hais (a kind of dish) in a leather mat and sent me (to call people). So I called some people and they ate, and this was the meal given on the consummation of his marriage with her. He then continued until the mountain of Uhud could be seen upon which he said ”This is a mountain which loves us and we love it”. Then when Madinah came within sight he said ”Oh Allah, Verily I sanctify whatever is between its two mountains as Ibrahim sanctified Makkah. Oh Allah, bless them in their Mud and Saa”. (Units of measurement, i.e. bless them in whatever they measure in these two units).

عن أَنَس بْن مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأَبِي طَلْحَةَ الْتَمِسْ لَنَا غُلَامًا مِنْ غِلْمَانِكُمْ يَخْدُمُنِي فَخَرَجَ بِي أَبُو طَلْحَةَ يُرْدِفُنِي وَرَاءَهُ فَكُنْتُ أَخْدُمُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُلَّمَا نَزَلَ فَكُنْتُ أَسْمَعُهُ يُكْثِرُ أَنْ يَقُولَ

اللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ وَالْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَالْجُبْنِ وَضَلَعِ الدَّيْنِ وَغَلَبَةِ الرِّجَالِ

فَلَمْ أَزَلْ أَخْدُمُهُ حَتَّى أَقْبَلْنَا مِنْ خَيْبَرَ وَأَقْبَلَ بِصَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ حُيَيٍّ قَدْ حَازَهَا فَكُنْتُ أَرَاهُ يُحَوِّي وَرَاءَهُ بِعَبَاءَةٍ أَوْ كِسَاءٍ ثُمَّ يُرْدِفُهَا وَرَاءَهُ حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا بِالصَّهْبَاءِ صَنَعَ حَيْسًا فِي نِطَعٍ ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَنِي فَدَعَوْتُ رِجَالًا فَأَكَلُوا وَكَانَ ذَلِكَ بِنَاءَهُ بِهَا ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ حَتَّى إِذَا بَدَا لَهُ أُحُدٌ قَالَ هَذَا جُبَيْلٌ يُحِبُّنَا وَنُحِبُّهُ فَلَمَّا أَشْرَفَ عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أُحَرِّمُ مَا بَيْنَ جَبَلَيْهَا مِثْلَ مَا حَرَّمَ بِهِ إِبْرَاهِيمُ مَكَّةَ اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَهُمْ فِي مُدِّهِمْ وَصَاعِهِمْ.
