Sahl ibn Muaaz ibn Anas narrates from his father that the messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Whosoever eats food, then says:

“All praise is for Allah who fed me this food and gave it to me without any power or might from me”

then his past and future sins will be forgiven.”

(Narrated by Abu Dawood in his Sunan in the chapter regarding clothing, Hadith 4023)

عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُعَاذِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم – قَالَ: مَنْ أَكَلَ طَعَامًا ثُمَّ قَالَ:

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِى أَطْعَمَنِى هَذَا الطَّعَامَ وَرَزَقَنِيهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِنِّى وَلاَ قُوَّةٍ

غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ.
