QUESTION:

A local masjid is not allowing anyone that has any sickness to attend Friday prayers, not just illnesses related to Covid-19, and their reasoning is that people may become concerned if they see someone sick. Does a brother who has a medically verified non-communicable illness, which is non-Covid 19 related, have to obey this ban on Friday prayers?

In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,

It is wrong for the masjid management to ban such individuals from the masjid. Hence, such a ban does not have to be obeyed.

However, if they still do not permit entry despite being informed of the above, then one should just go to another masjid that permits entry.
