QUESTION:
Someone is doing jamaat (praying in congregation) at home. Father is imam and son is next to him. Wife comes later and joins the jamaat as masbooq. Father did not originally make niyyat for the wife/any woman to join.
Will wife’s Salah be valid?
ANSWER:
In the Name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,
If the imām (father) did not initially make intention to lead (do imāmat of) the female (wife), then her ṣalāh will be invalid. In this case, she should repeat the ṣalāh.[1]
And Allah, the Almighty, knows best

O you who have Imaan! Sincerely repent to Allah.
