The blessed month of Ramaḍān is the greatest month of the year wherein the Qur’ān was revealed. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would start looking out for the blessed month of Ramaḍān two months prior to its arrival and upon seeing the moon of the month of Rajab would supplicate thus:

اللهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي رَجَبٍ، وَشَعْبَانَ، وَبَلِّغْنَا رَمَضَانَ – (رواه البيهقى والطبرانى، مرقاة ص244 ج3)

Translation:O Allah, grant us blessings in Rajab and Sha’bān and make us reach Ramaḍān.

The month of Sha’bān comes after Rajab and thereafter the blessed month of Ramaḍān. However, the Prophet ﷺ would wait in its [Ramaḍān’s] anticipation from Rajab. Hence, every Muslim should make this du’ā in Rajab and start preparing for the blessed month of Ramaḍān. If a Muslim starts wrapping up his tasks in the two months Rajab and Sha’bān, then there can be a lot of convenience in the blessed month of Ramaḍān, and a Muslim can engage in worship with ease.
