Question

Assalamu Alaikum,

Is it permissible for me to marry my mothers’ cousin? To elaborate, she is my mothers’ fathers’ sisters’ daughter. We are both Muslims. Is she my mahram? Jazakallah.

Answer

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Your mothers’ cousin sister is not your mahram and it will be permissible for you to marry her.[1]
