When a believer steps out into the world, they step into a place of tests — seen and unseen. Yet the Prophet ﷺ gifted us a supplication that turns an ordinary moment, like walking out of the door, into an act of protection and trust.
In the Name of Allah. I place my trust in Allah. There is no power and no strength except through Allah.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“When a person leaves his home and says: ‘In the Name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, there is no power and no strength except through Allah,’ it is said to him: ‘You are guided, protected, and sufficed,’ and the devil moves away from him.” (Sunan Abī Dāwūd, 5095)
Step out of your home carrying more than your belongings — carry reliance upon the One who controls all things. With these words, you are not stepping into uncertainty alone. You are stepping out with:
- Guidance — Allah directs your steps
- Protection — Allah shields you from harm
- Sufficiency — Allah takes care of what you cannot
A simple supplication… yet it pushes away what you cannot see, and brings near what your heart deeply needs.
This duʿā is not long. It is not difficult. It takes seconds. But it builds a spiritual shield around your day — a reminder that your strength is not in your plans, your preparation, or your confidence, but in your tawakkul.
Let your first step outside be a step toward Allah.
