Always make duʿā, even for the simplest matters, the ones you feel perfectly capable of handling on your own. Even when life feels calm, steady, and free of hardship, make duʿā.
Why? Because the one who turns to Allah in moments of ease will find their heart instinctively drawn to Him in moments of difficulty. The soul that is trained to rely upon its Lord in peace will not panic when tested by the storm.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Remember Allah in times of ease and He will remember you in times of hardship.” (Tirmidhī)
He ﷺ also said:
“Let each one of you ask his Lord for all his needs, even for a lace of his sandal when it breaks.” (Tirmidhī)
These words remind us that duʿā is not only for moments of desperation. It is an act of love and recognition, a declaration that every blessing, big or small, comes only by the will of Allah. When you ask Allah for the tiniest of things, for guidance in a decision, for patience in your day, even for something as small as a missing shoelace, you are acknowledging His constant presence in your life.
Making duʿā in times of ease is a form of gratitude. It softens the heart, nurtures humility, and keeps the soul aware of its need for its Creator. It prevents the illusion of self-sufficiency, the silent belief that we can manage without Him.
And when hardship eventually arrives, as it always does in the journey of life, the heart that has been in constant conversation with Allah will not need to search for words or direction. It will instinctively turn back to Him, finding comfort in familiar nearness.
So keep making duʿā in every season, through every emotion, and for every need.
Because when you remember Allah in your ease, He will remember you in your hardship.
And in those moments of difficulty, you will not just be calling out to Him — you will find that He has already turned His mercy toward you.

The body nourished with unlawful means will not enter paradise.
