In a world filled with constant change, trials, and uncertainty, the believer is reminded to remain firm and grounded. Just as a waterproof watch remains unaffected by the waves that crash against it, the heart of a المؤمن (believer) should remain steady—anchored to Allah—regardless of the storms surrounding it.
Allah reminds us in the Qur’an:
“Indeed, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.”
(Sūrah Ar-Ra‘d 13:28)
True stability is not found in a life free of hardship, but in a heart that remains connected to its Creator through every hardship. When the الدنيا becomes turbulent, it is dhikr (remembrance), du‘ā, and reliance upon Allah that protect the inner state of a believer.
The Prophet ﷺ emphasised the importance of a firm heart, frequently making the du‘ā:
“O Turner of the hearts, keep my heart firm upon Your religion.”
(Jāmi‘ at-Tirmidhī)
This powerful supplication reflects a profound truth: hearts are constantly changing, and without Allah’s guidance, they can easily drift.
Life will inevitably bring moments of chaos, uncertainty, and difficulty. Yet the believer strives to remain inwardly calm—not because the storm is weak, but because their connection to Allah is strong.
Anchoring the heart to Allah means:

Turning to Him in ease and hardship

Trusting His decree with contentment

Seeking forgiveness and guidance often
When the heart is firmly attached to Allah, it remains alive, protected, and at peace—even when everything else feels unstable.
