Question:
I recently went to a beach, whilst there I did wudu in the sea, I later found out others have urinated while in the sea.
They claim:
1) It is permissable to urinate in the sea as its an unrestricted large body of water.
2) A secondry dip in the water will purify them.
Are the 2 claims above correct?
Answer:
In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,
Wa ‘alaykumus Salām wa Rahmatullāhi Wabarakātuh
1) The sea is not a place created for one to unrinate. One must urinate in places specifically designated for urination.
2) If one decides to do wudhū directly from sea water where impurity has just entered, then the following conditions have to be met for the validity of such a wudhū:
-The taste, colour and smell of the water does not change.
-If the impurity is visible, wudhū is not done with the water of that area of visible impurity.
