QUESTION
Reading salah with lip balm/vaseline/moisturiser on the lips and licking the lips whilst praying. Is the salah valid?
ANSWER
In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,
Performing ṣalāh with such moisturisers on the lips will be valid as long as the moisturisers are pure.
As for performing ṣalāh with such moisturisers on the lips that are pure and then licking them whilst praying, this will not render the ṣalāh invalid as long as one does not swallow the taste of the moisturisers.
It would be advisable to avoid applying such moisturisers during ṣalāh unless necessary.
