QUESTION:
Can you get a hand and body massage using a blend of essential oil which goes into your blood stream while fasting. Is it permissible?
ANSWER:
In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,
It is permissible to have such a massage during fasting and this will not invalidate the fast. However, the massage must not be carried out by someone from the opposite gender (unless it is one’s spouse or maḥram), the ‘awrah (those parts of the body that cannot be uncovered in front of others) must not be revealed and there should be no fear of one’s desires being aroused.
