Inhaling steam from ironing in the state of fasting

QUESTION:

While ironing if steam enters the nose or mouth unintentionally, will this break the fast?

 

ANSWER:

In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,

 

Whilst fasting, a person who is ironing should try to avoid inhaling the steam. However, if it enters unintentionally, the fast will not break.
 

If possible, one should try to iron during the night whilst not in the state of fasting.

 

And Allah, the Almighty, knows best
