Ubadah ibn Samit relates that the messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him said: Whoever wakes up at night while turning sides and reads the following Dua:

There is none worthy of worship besides Allah alone, He has no partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and to Him belongs all praise and He has power over everything. All praise belongs to Allah, He is free of all defects, there is none worthy of worship besides Allah, Allah is the greatest and there is no power or might except with Allah.

Then he says, ‘Oh my lord forgive me’ , or he makes any supplication, his supplication is accepted. Then if he performs ablution and offers Salah, his Salah is accepted.

(Narrated by Bukhari in the chapter ‘The virtue of one who wakes up at night and offers Salah).

عن عُبَادَةُ بْنُ الصَّامِتِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ تَعَارَّ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ:

لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ وَسُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَلَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ

ثُمَّ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي أَوْ دَعَا اسْتُجِيبَ لَهُ فَإِنْ تَوَضَّأَ وَصَلَّى قُبِلَتْ صَلَاتُهُ.
