Ibn Abbas, Allah be pleased with him narrates that the Messenger of Allah, Allah send peace and blessings upon him used to seek refuge for Hassan and Hussein saying, ‘Your father (Ibrahim) would seek refuge for Ismail and Ishaq with the following words

I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from every devil, poisonous creature and harmful eye

Uqbah (one of the narrators) asked Haywah, has only this much of the Hadeeth reached you from me? Haywah says I replied ”Yes”. Uqbah then added, that when one recites this Dua, Shaytan says, he has been protected from me for the rest of the day.

عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا، قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعَوِّذُ الحَسَنَ وَالحُسَيْنَ، وَيَقُولُ: ” إِنَّ أَبَاكُمَا كَانَ يُعَوِّذُ بِهَا إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَاقَ:
أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ، وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لاَمَّةٍ
