Aisha Allah be pleased with her narrates that when the Prophet, Allah send peace and blessings upon him would leave the toilet he would say:
We thank You Oh Allah
Note: There are two meanings which have been given by scholars for ‘Ghufranak’, one being ‘Oh Allah, we ask Your forgiveness’ and the other, ‘Oh Allah, we thank You’. To many, the second would seem more appropriate taking into consideration the fact that one has just relieved himself, and had Allah made this not possible, it could lead to many severe physical health problems or even death. Therefore the translation of thanking Allah would seem more appropriate on this occasion.
