Bara, Allah be pleased with him narrates that when the prophet, Allah send peace and blessings upon him, would intend to sleep he would place his hand under his right cheek and supplicate:


O Allah! Save me from Your punishment the day You resurrect Your slaves

حَدَّثَنَا قَبِيصَةُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ قَالَ‏:‏ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنَامَ وَضَعَ يَدَهُ تَحْتَ خَدِّهِ الأَيْمَنِ، وَيَقُولُ‏:‏

اللَّهُمَّ قِنِي عَذَابَكَ يَوْمَ تَبْعَثُ عِبَادَكَ‏ ‏
